Teddy was quite the early riser this morning, but of all days to rise early, today was a good one because I wanted to get moving today. One of the things that I have been looking forward to this entire trip is the Beehive Trail. It was suggested to go on the Beehive Trail earlier in the morning (before 9:00) to avoid the rush of people. We (Thom, Dad and I) were lucky to get there around 8/8:30 and there wasn't a crowd yet. Mom and Teddy stayed at the condo and went to the park. I had read that this was not a good trail for kids. The trail began with a very rocky terrain which led into larger boulders. Rungs were necessary for parts of the trail. I'm sure it was very doable without the rungs, but they sure made me feel safer having them.  The views as we climbed were absolutely incredible. We stopped multiple times along the way to take it all in.  The hike down had its moments of difficulty, but for the most part it was a relatively easy hike down.  Going up was by far more exhilarating, though. The hike was only almost 2 miles so it didn't take too long to do.

Once we were finished we came back to the condo to meet up with Mom and Teddy. It was time for Teddy to take a nap so I stayed with him while Mom and Dad walked around downtown Bar Harbor and Thom went on a jog. Mom and Dad walked across the land that is exposed when the tide is low. It takes you to Bar Island.  If you get to Bar Island, you better get back while it is still low tide or you will be stuck there for awhile.

After Teddy woke up and we had eaten lunch we headed back to Acadia. We started driving the Park Loop Road and passed some places we plan on coming back to.  Our first stop together was Jordan Pond. We decided to start walk some of the trails around the pond. Thom carried Teddy in the hiking backpack. Teddy did pretty well! Mom and I would give Thom small pinecones that he would give to Teddy and he would throw. This kept him entertained for awhile.

We explored some of the carriage roads and gift shop at Jordan Pond also. After Jordan Pond we decided to head to Bubble Rock. Bubble Rock is a rock that moved into its place because of glaciers approximately 15,000 years ago.  It looks like it is about to fall off the cliff, but it doesn't move. The route to it was very fun to climb. There were some easy parts and some more challenging parts. Getting close to the rock was a little scary because it was on a cliff.

While Mom and Dad were walking around Bar Harbor, Dad found an evening cruise option for this evening. We decided to try to make it a goal to get there. After running quickly back to the house to grab sweatshirts we went to dinner. Dinner was at Rosalie's, a pizza place downtown.  It was yummy. Teddy especially loved the cheesy garlic bread. We then loaded the evening  cruise ship.

We saw many beautiful scenes on the cruise ship.  We went right around Acadia and saw some of the popular sites that we will be seeing tomorrow! We also went near a cute island that had a bunch of seals on it. Teddy loved spotting all the birds. The harbor cruise was absolutely beautiful. It was a wonderful evening!
