We started late this morning so we weren't able to do the Ocean Trail before the cruise ship came in and more people arrived. Once everyone was moving we headed to Cadillac Mountain. Unfortunately, we realized on the way there that we have a nail in the tire causing a small leak of air, so we'll have to take care of that later. Cadillac Mountain is over 1,500 feet in elevation and is the first spot the sun hits in US in the morning. They sell tickets to be able to see the sunrise. As I did research for this trip many people said it as a definite must do, but I don't think we'll be doing that. From Cadillac Mountain you can see for miles. We could see the tide starting to go low and the land to Bar Island was becoming exposed. The lookout area was very nice to walk around; it was a bigger area than I expected. This morning we (Thom, Dad, and I...Mom stayed with Teddy) woke up early to try to beat the crowd at the Beehive Hike again. We got there earlier, but there were more people on the trail. I'm glad we redid it because there were parts of the hike that I didn't remember. Thom used an app on his phone to map our hike. It took us 24 minutes and 53 seconds to reach the summit. This time on the way down we decided to do the Bowl Trail. The Bowl Trail goes partially around a lake. At different parts the trail was rocky and then on wooden planks and then through the forest. The Bowl Trail leads back to where the Beehive started. When we approached that area we saw a group of people looking up at the Beehive Trail. I had not seen it from down below before and I am glad I didn't see it until after I was done hiking it. It looks a lot worse looking up at it than what it seemed climbing it.
