Our last full day of our vacation! What an amazing trip!!! Today Teddy woke up rather early (this seems to be becoming a habit...) but it was okay because that gave us an earlier start on cleaning the cottage and heading out of town. We were able to clean up and load up by 8:30 to head our trek back toward Boston. Dad has done all the driving this trip so Thom, Teddy, and I were able to catch up on a little sleep while we drove. Our only stop on our drive back was the Portland Head Light. Portland Head Light was built under the directive of President George Washington and was completed in 1791 using a fund of $1,500, established by him. It is the oldest head light in the state of Maine (and the most beautiful one we saw). We had intended on stopping at the Portland Head Light on our way to Acadia, but it was raining so we chose to skip it; I am glad we decided to stop by on our way back through.
